He’s got a hammer in that left foot.
Bitter sweet. Pleased he scored but may mean he stays away longer if they win etc :-(

Game of two Mo’s.
One off. Maybe playing the victim? (I’ll let you guess which one.) The other hitting a screamer seconds later. Bad news. He ain’t coming home early.

Ahh just found this.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/59796566#:~:text=Footballers%20can%20now%20play%20for%20their%20clubs%20until,for%20the%20tournament%2C%20which%20starts%20on%209%20January.
The last tornament allowed the players to stay until the 3rd Jan. I expect this to be the case this year. Thus Kudus can play but will have to fly out the next day as will Aguerd and Benrhama, who is in the Algeria 55 man squad announced on the 15th Dec. The final squads can be delayed until a few days before the tournament starts but it's generally thought that the FA Cup game will be missed by all.

On the Ball Read that hear too. https://www.ghanafa.org/black-stars-assemble-in-johannesburg-on-december-31-for-pre-afcon-camping
Thus if Kudus has to be there from the start he'll miss the Brighton game,as will Lamptey of Brighton. Their frienldy on the 8th is in Joburg.

Unlikely for me that Antonio comes back ‘refreshed’ and in any form…..

With a refreshed Antonio returning, we might get a re-energised version of the player we have seen in fits-and-started over recent seasons. He might be a useful replacement until others return - of might extend some good performances for the run-in. Don’t forget, he’ll be aware of his contract and would be putting himself in the shop windows for other suitors to come in.

Michail Antonio is likely to be fit in time to replace Kudus. Perhaps not ideal given Kudus's form and Micky's lack of it but he won't let us down up front and you never know, he might just come back into some form homself.
Nayef Aguerd could be more problematic. Ogbonna is starting to show his age and Mavropanos needs a lot more time on the training ground and brain that functions in defence.
I hope at least one new CB is a focus for Tim Steidten over the last couple of months. We need back up in that area.

I imagine we might be able to get agreement for Kudus to play against Brighton on the 2nd but he'd be off after that Nothing personal but hopefully Ghana go out in the group stage

I was on the AFCON site looking for a ticket update when I saw an article in Arabic about Mauritania's squad. When you click on it and translate it to English in Chrome, it throws up some interesting players that might be worth watching out for:

I asked the same question on ITBS:
Players are released to their countries on 1st Jan.
Kudus last game at AFCON will be 22nd Jan (earliest), 11th Feb (latest) Aguerd last game at AFCON will be 24th Jan (earliest), 11th Feb (latest)
Brighton (H) and Sheff Utd (A) are the only two PL games we definitely lose those two.
Worst case we lose them both for another three PL games.
Benny and Cornet are both in provisional squads, but they are BIG provisional squads and Cornet's lack of game time must hamper his chances, and Benny's not been key player for his country for ages IIRC.
Thanks to Micah
